5 Ways To Overcome Negativity

Hi Everyone,

I have been working a lot on my website & Blog posts lately as I want it to be the best it can be because I love blogging so much it is important to have good website that people can read & follow easily! Anyway before I keep rambling ,I have decided to a blog post that is actually quite personal to me and I feel a lot of people can go through negativity somewhat in their lives.

5 ways to overcome negativity

Doubts, negativity and self esteem can hit us at all angles in life,  we can spend most of the time in our heads thinking all sorts of negativity and trust me it is not good been in your head sometimes as it can be mind numbing, picking out things that are wrong with us tearing ourselves apart, thinking we are not good enough, it seems to be the negative takes down our positive side to our minds which is frustrating. They say we are our own worst enemy which I believe is 100% true, our minds always makes things seem worse than they actually are, in this world we face challenges and often question ourselves in society because sometimes people and social media can be critical and we strive to the best we can be in looks & perfection! a lot of the time we feel the need to be accepted and for that we change ourselves so that we are liked which shouldn’t be the case at all.

People can become so doubtful over their own lives they feel hatred, upset, jealousy, frustrated and so many more mixed emotions and it can all come negativity & genuinely unhappy with their life! Everyone deals with it differently as we are unique in our own way,So here are some ways I deal with it & I wanted to share with you.

1. I will never get where I want to be in life

Here is self doubt been stuck in my own head bad thoughts, I am not good enough! well I have fought with my own thoughts for so long now and its about reaching your goals that will take hard work and the drive to do it, rome wasn’t built in a day but negativity will make reaching your goals a lot harder, where you are in life right now you are there for a reason you may not see it right now but you will in time, I know that sounds cliche but it’s true. I have studied for the last couple of years & achieved so many great things and I never gave myself praise not once but now I do because I have change my perception on things in my life which I believe anyone can do if they really want to, think about where you want to go next or what you want to do take it one step at a time and put some effort into getting there if you believe in yourself nothing is stopping you, apart from you! the world is your oyster so go for your goals and every time a negative thought comes in to your mind or you feel stuck, do something to distract yourself from your mind or try change into a positive thought.

2. People won’t Like me for me

I for one always thought every time I met a new person or got introduced to new people I automatically assumed they wouldn’t like me for me as a person whether it was how I looked or my personality. Plenty of times in my life I have cancelled my plans or I just wouldn’t go anywhere with that thought kept creeping up on me at the end of the day it is about self esteem and building up your confidence. This again is self doubt that people wont like you when in reality you do not actually know if they do or not if you don’t go out there and meet people or get introduced, so I have learned to just forget everyone around you and what they think you are who you are just be yourself because it is important that you like you for you and nobody else and if someone doesn’t like you or is judgemental that is not a reflection on you that is just their perception.

3. I hate myself

There are days where you look at yourself and just think how much you actually despise that person who is looking right back at you! This can be down to emotions running all over the place, hormones or just sleep deprived which I get a lot, So what I do to pull myself out of that I get up, make a cup of tea or coffee which ever you prefer, some fruit as I love fruit in the morning so refreshing take a shower, cleanse your face, do your hair and my favorite part is to put on some tan and it makes everything better and plus makes you feel more confident well it does for me, I do feel better with a tan and apply some makeup then you have transformed into a different person from that morning.

4. Why Don’t I Succeed

This one we can all battle with at times. If you have goals you want to reach and you are in the process and working towards them there will be days you will move two steps forward and be chuffed and the next day you take one step backwards and then start getting into the self doubt negative mindset again. Everyday you strive towards your goals firstly think about why you want it?! Next thing you do is think why you started it in the first place?! these are questions I always ask myself and then that gets me out of self doubt of thinking why I am not succeeding when in reality I am but it takes progress, hard-work & dedication.

5. They are better than me

I have come across this as a blogger or it can be friendship anything at all, but I have noticed it more in blogging! I do know that if anyone that reads this post and is a blogger will understand I am not alone in this topic. You will com across other bloggers or as I said earlier friendships or relationships as I do not just want to talk about bloggers but when you see other successful bloggers or you like their blog layout or photography you don’t feel content or you can feel jealous so instead of feeling that way maybe think of ways how to change your layout or come up with new content for your blog just be creative and think of new ideas. Now onto relationship & friendships sometimes you maybe envious of other people’s relationships or friendship and think oh I want to be like them or I wish we had that relationship goals but at the end of the day be different and don’t try to be like other people it is better to be grateful on what you have or what friends you have,there are people out there that don’t have what you have so I have learned to have gratitude,no one is better than anyone we are all human beings that just have role models.

    Thanks Amy for sharing its a honest and open post especially in our society today with the pressures from peers and influences of the media , with so much talk and discussion around mental health i am sure many people will relate to this post , i sure can especially the self doubt… hard at times to fully believe in yourself but i suppose its about practice and surrounding yourself with people who build you up..
